Reef rocks constitute Barra Honda hill, of 300mts tall, which means, by old reefs that sink caused by an elevation provoked by tectonics faults 60 millions of years ago. These beautiful sea turtles lay from 80 to 100 eggs each, weighing over 100 pounds and reaching over 2.5 feet long. The Lora turtle may become extinct within the next 20 years if their rate of decline is not stopped. Although chances to see these turtles are possible at any time the main season is between May - Feb with the peak in December but seeing hundreds of turtles at night is very common. Photographs are not permitted after dark so we have afternoon departures so you may view the turtles at sunset as well as night time.

12. Miravalles Volcano Combo Tour:

You will be transfer to the Guanacaste mountain range whrere you will see majestic views of the Miravalles volcano. This colossus is one of the most active volcanoes in Costa Rica; its main activity is compound of gas emanations and geysers which are used by the government in a geothermal project to produce electricity. Then, you will continue the trip with a visit to "Las Hornillas", a place situated at the foot of the volcano, where you can find some geysers all over the project. At this place you will be able to horseback ride through the forest and hike about 40 minutes to observe several waterfalls and some animals and plants.
