Package # 2: (10 days/ 09 nights) - Alajuela- -Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge– Arenal Volcano -Manuel Antonio - Alajuela

With this package you will visit Caño Negro Wildlife refuge, Arenal Volcano area, Rincon de la Vieja National Park and Manuel Antonio National Park considered to be one of the most beautiful parks in all of Costa Rica, with white sandy beaches and scenic walking trails.

Day 01:  Alajuela

Day 02: Alajuela / Caño Negro Wildlife refuge

 
After enjoying breakfast pick the Daihatsu Bego up at your hotel. Departure to Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge. These amazing wetlands are located in the northern zone of Costa Rica, close to the small village of Los Chiles in the Province of Alajuela. Caño Negro is mainly conformed by the Caño Negro Lagoon and the Rio Frio. It has an extension of 9960 Hs., and it is one of the most important biological areas of the country and the four most important wetlands area in the world. Caño Negro Wild Life Refuge was declared "Wildlife Area of International Importance" in 1991.   Free afternoon to enjoy the area. Dinner. Overnight at Caño Negro Natural Lodge. This small nature lodge is the best option in the village of Caño Negro, and it's well located right near the canals and lagoons. If you really want to visit the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, either for bird-watching and wildlife viewing or for fishing, this is a very good choice.

  

Day 03: Caño Negro Wildlife refuge

 
Breakfast. Tour to Caño Negro Wetland, it is an excellent ecological place in Costa Rica with an ecosystem of more than 350 species of birds, as well as of the Basilisk emerald, iguanas, turtles, Cayman and many others. To enjoy a journey through the wetland in our comfortable and safe boats in company of experienced guides who know the area thoroughly. Free afternoon. Dinner. Overnight at Caño Negro Natural Lodge.

Day 04: Caño Negro Wildlife refuge/ Arenal

 
After breakfast departure to Arenal Area. In the afternoon visit to Tabacon Hot Springs where you can sooth your muscles in the clear, relaxing thermal springs. Buffet dinner. Overnight at Arenal Springs Hotel. The hotel features colonial style rooms, with all the amenities, the rooms have private terrace, king or queen size beds, air conditioning, cable TV, refrigerator, private bathroom, lush tropical gardens, swimming pools and view of the Arenal Volcano.

 

Day 05: Arenal/ Rincon de la Vieja National Park

 
After enjoying breakfast departure to Rincon de la Vieja area. Rincon de la Vieja is the largest volcano in the country's northwest, comprises a remote volcanic complex in the Guanacaste Range. At least nine eruptive vents are located within a 15-kilometer-wide caldera. The twin cone of 1,916 meter Santa Maria volcano, the highest peak of the Rincon complex, features an inactive crater 500 meters across. Arrival to Hacienda Guachipelin. The Hacienda borders the popular Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Since 1985, Hacienda Guachipelin has also been hosting a steady flow of visitors, helping them enjoy the natural beauty of the ranch and the neighboring national park, where you will experience volcanic activity as in no other volcano in Costa Rica.  Free afternoon to enjoy the area. Overnight at Hacienda Guachipelin.

Day 06: Rincon de la Vieja National Park

 
Breakfast. Rio Negro Tubing Adventure: After a 45 minute horseback ride through the dry forest, we get to the changing rooms, where we can get ready to go tubing. After a short walk, we get to the base of La Victoria Waterfall, to receive a short safety breaking. Then each one gets his own personal round raft, to get his adrenalin pumping as he rides the white water rapids in the Rio Negro, for an hour and a half. Then we go to the changing rooms and get the horses to go back to the lodge. Lunch. Dinner. Overnight at Hacienda Guachipelìn.

Day 07: Rincon de la Vieja National Park/ Manuel Antonio beach

After breakfast departure to Manuel Antonio beach. Manuel Antonio National Park is so popular because of its expensive white sand beaches The principal habitants are primary forest, secondary forest, mangrove swamps, lagoons and beach vegetation. There is quite a varied fauna with a lot of species of mammals and birds. Overnight at San Bada hotel. This is located netx to the National Park and near to the beach.

Day 08: Manuel Antonio beach

 
Breakfast. Free day to enjoy the beach and the area. Overnight at San Bada Hotel.

Day 09: Manuel Antonio beach/Alajuela

 
Breakfast. Free morning. Departure to Alajuela area. Drop the rental car off at your hotel. Overnight at Holiday Inn Express hotel.

Day 10: Alajuela / Flight back

 
After breakfast our driver will pick you up and transfer you to the International Airport for your flight back home.

Day 01: San Jose

Arrival to San Jose where our driver will meet and transfer you to Country Inn and Suites hotel. Located in San Jose, 10 minutes away from the international airport. Day 02: San Jose/ Arenal

After enjoying breakfast tour to Arenal Volcano and Tabacon Hot Springs. The Arenal Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in the Americas. From our observation point, you will feel the ground tremble and see the night sky explode with ash and lava in a natural display of fireworks. Typical lunch in a restaurant near Arenal Volcano. Next, we will visit the hot springs of Tabacon where you can relax in the soothing waters and be caressed by the cool night air while observing the volcano. At a convenient time after your arrival, we will treat you to a splendid buffet dinner at the resort. On this tour we will also visit the town of Sarchi, well known for the beauty of the handcrafts that they produce. Overnight at Arenal Volcano Inn hotel, a small and cozy hotel, located on the way to the volcano, the hotel has two swimming pools, one for adults and one for children, plus a Jacuzzi with temperate water, bar, restaurant, spa, and all of the rooms with view to Arenal Volcano, equipped with air conditioning, mini bar, private bathroom, hot water and terrace.

   

Day 03: Arenal/ Monteverde Cloud forest

Day 04: Monteverde Cloud Forest

After breakfast, you will be taken to the Walkways; this is a unique system of suspension bridges that zigzag through deep canyons at the level of the treetops and also enjoy the canopy tour adventure, then you will have free afternoon to enjoy other attractions of the area. Overnight at Monteverde Country Lodge Hotel.

Day 05: Monteverde Cloud Forest/ San Jose

After enjoying breakfast, transfer to San Jose city. Overnight at Country Inn and suites hotel.

Day 06: San Jose/ Corcovado National Park

Breakfast. Transfer to Sansa airport for your domestic air flight to Drake Bay. Land and boat transfer to Pirate Cove. Lunch. Free afternoon to enjoy the beach. Dinner. Overnight at Pirate Cove, a small hotel, consisting of comfortable cabins and bungalows, located on Osa Peninsula, the most bio-diversified area of Costa Rica. In Pirate Cove you will experience the true pristine and nature beauty of Costa Rica and nearby Corcovado National Park.
Drake Bay is an oasis of natural beauty and peace in our increasingly hectic world. The hotel offers a simpler lifestyle that is more in tune with nature. However, this version of eco-tourism doesn't mean you'll sleep rough! All beds have orthopedic mattresses. All cabins and bungalows at Pirate Cove Hotel have hot water showers and 24-hour electricity. A delicious European-Costa Rican style cooking, homemade bread ,and deserts receive very high praise.

Day 07:Corcovado National Park

You have to wake up really early to eat breakfast and be ready to leave for the park before 7:00 a.m.
Corcovado National Park is probably the most isolated and beautiful park in the country. You can see all four Costa Rican species of monkeys there. Bring your bird book because there are over 400 species in the area. However, it's not easy spotting them among the dense primary rain forest.
Watch your step so you don't get in the way of the army ants. Your guide will show you strange and wonderful trees such as the "Leche de Vaca" (which the Indians used to cure ulcers) and the "Walking Tree" (which actually moves several inches each year). He will explain more or less how this special ecosystem functions, although the greatest experts admit they may know less than half of the total species that live here. There may be one hundred different types of trees in one hundred meters. At midday you stop to eat your picnic lunch on a deserted beach or else swim at San Pedrillo waterfall. The 4-5 hour walk is not terribly difficult but be prepared for a lot of ups and downs through the uneven jungle. You will be ready for a shower and a snooze when you return to the hotel. Dinner. Overnight at Pirate Cove.

Day 08: Corcovado National Park/ Snorkeling in Caño Island

After breakfast, tour to Caño Island, Caño Island consists of approximately 200 hectares (500 acres) and lies 15 kilometers offshore. The waters are also filled with treasure. For snorkeling the island is fantastic. The blue water is home to many tropical Pacific reef fish, just a few meters from the white sand beach you will find creatures ranging from angelfish to the occasional small reef shark. This tour lasts all day and includes a picnic lunch and snorkeling equipment. Dinner. Overnight at Pirate Cove.

Day 09: Corcovado National Park/ Uvita Beach

After enjoying breakfast, transfer to Uvita beach with the shuttle bus. Free afternoon to enjoy the beach and the area. Overnight at La Cusinga Lodge.La Cusinga Lodge is a coastal rain forest eco lodge dedicated to marine and terrestrial conservation and environmental education. Its location on the southern Pacific coast provides guests with sweeping ocean views and a relaxing beach vacation. In addition La Cusinga is part of a private nature reserve that supplies the visitor with an unparalleled look at Costa Rican wildlife and rain forest. The reserve consists primarily of 250 hectares of virgin rain forest that borders thousands of more acres of privately protected forest. On Costa Rica’s still wild south-western Pacific coast, La Cusinga Lodge borders Ballena Marine National Park which was developed to protect the humpback whales that frequent the coast. La Cusinga Lodge was established in order to share the unique site with Costa Ricans as well as international visitors. Besides getting exposure to rural Costa Rican culture and beautiful vistas, visitors have access to highly prolific areas of primary tropical rain forest.

Day 10: Uvita Beach

Breakfast. Free day to enjoy the area. Overnight at La Cusinga Lodge.

Day 11: Uvita Beach/ San Jose

Breakfast. Private transfer to San Jose. Overnight at Country Inn and suites hotel.

Day 12: San Jose/ Flight back home

After breakfast, our driver will pick you up and transfer you to the International Airport for your flight back home.
